Ms. Pierce has more than 18 years of diversified experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and the environmental management field, with current emphasis in GIS Training and Marketing. Her present position as a Research Associate with the Water Resources Institute at CSU San Bernardino Pfau Library allows her to combine her GIS talents with water resource management efforts.

She is presently working with the State of California Department of Water Resources as part of the Alluvial Fan Task Force. In conjunction with the local County Museum, Ms. Pierce is supporting a comprehensive biology data conversion effort for local government land use and land mitigation efforts. She has also managed a local watershed education program supporting upper watershed management with youth groups and schools for the upper Santa Ana watershed. She is presently an ESRI Certified Instructor for ArcGIS and Spatial Analyst and has been teaching GIS classes at a local extension program since 1997.

Ms. Pierce worked as an environmental specialist at a large consulting firm in Pasadena writing environmental impact reports. She left to work 10 years at ESRI from 1992-2002. Recently Ms. Pierce has also consulted overseas in Thailand for organic Jasmine Rice farm mapping, Silk route mapping and herbal remedies plant mapping. In 2002, she worked in Italy on both Roman Villas located outside of the Pompeii region and in the eastern area of Abruzzio region of Italy working on a 300 BC Saminite site. In 2004 Ms. Pierce consulted in Jordan with the Hashemite University in Amman, helping develop GIS for Cultural Heritage Management training material. She was honored to be able to help develop curriculum using the World Heritage site of Petra for the project.

She has a Masters Degree in Environmental and Water Resources Management from Clark University in Worcester, MA. 1987, and a Bachelors of International Studies from the School for International Training, Brattleboro, VT 1984
