Join the Global Energy Network Institute and San Diego Renewable Energy Society  for the

leading-edge of the electric industry discussion

on energy storage and it's impact on renewable energy in San Diego. The 100% Renewable San Diego event for February will cover the

SGIP and the mandate for the procurement of ENERGY STORAGE in California.

Event Detail:

The California Public Utilities Commission ("CPUC") mandated that the state's investor-owned utilities ("IOUs") collectively procure over 1,300 MW of energy storage by 2024.

The Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) plays a critical role in the deployment of distributed generation projects and the reduction of onsite electric demand and greenhouse gas emissions. Within the last few years, SGIP has become a driving force that is helping the energy storage market grow and evolve. The discussion will cover the role of SGIP in helping to meet state energy goals, the value of customer sited storage, and an overview of energy storage trends, applications and technologies observed within the program.

  • IOU Procurement of Grid-Scale Energy Storage
  • Overview of CPUC's Energy Storage Mandate
  • Long-Term Procurement Planning All-Source RFOs
  • Overview of Publicly Owned Utility Procurement
